Hudson United’s Recreational Youth/Teen leagues provide players the opportunity to play and learn the game of soccer in an environment that is filled with fun, friends, and fitness.
Recreational soccer is primarily devoted to the enjoyment and the development of soccer players without the emphasis on travel or high-level competition. It can be a great activity for the beginning player as an introduction to a team sport. It can also be a great activity for the skilled player that enjoys soccer but prefers or can only commit to playing once a week.
Teams are formed based on age with a balance of experience and ability. Players usually remain on the same team all year, so friend requests are welcomed. Recreational players all have equal playing time, so there is no bench warming.
Outdoor Format: 90 minutes on Saturdays for the fall outdoor session. The 90 minutes will include a warmup/practice and then a game. The outdoor start times can be 9:00 am, 10:00 am, 11:00 am, 12:00 pm, 1:00 pm or 2:00 pm. Outdoor games are played at Barlow Farm Park in Hudson.

Indoor Format: 60 minutes on Saturdays for the indoor sessions. The 60 minutes will include a short warm up/practice and then a game. All games are played at NC Soccer in Hudson. There are only 3 large fields at NC Soccer, so the indoor start times can be as early as 8:20 AM or as late as 4:00 PM. Age groups usually play during a particular time slot.
Indoor team schedules will be based on the number of players that register and the number of coaches that volunteer.

Coaching: Games are coached by a parent volunteer. Many of our volunteer coaches come with soccer playing or soccer coaching experience. We also have coaches that have no soccer or coaching experience but are enthusiastic and enjoy making soccer fun for kids. All coaches are provided coaching assistance and support from the Hudson United Director of Youth Recreational Soccer. To ensure the safety of our players, all our recreational coaches and assistant coaches complete an online background check and an online concussion training course.
Player Developmental Track: All interested recreational players grades 1st-5th grade may consider exploring the Hudson United Travel Program. Most of our travel players start in the recreational league.
Calendar: There are three 9-week sessions for 2024/2025. Players may choose to participate in one or all 3 of the sessions. The fall session is played at Barlow Farm Park in Hudson. All Indoor games are played at NC Soccer in Hudson.
